The average price for a gallon of gasoline around the United States dropped below $2 for the first time in four years, according to AAA, adding that the national average was $1.99 as of March 31.
It came as one gas station in Wing, Minnesota, was selling a gallon of gas for 99 cents per gallon, according to the Star-Tribune. A station in Wisconsin was selling a gallon for 95 cents, and earlier this month, a Kentucky station was reported to be selling a gallon for 99 cents.
