Anthony C. Williams, a Democrat from Huntington Beach, was appointed to the California Fish and Game Commission—which works with the California Department of Fish and Game to protect wildlife and the ecosystem in the state—according to an Oct. 5 announcement from Gov. Gavin Newsom’s office.

Williams, 54, was the director of public policy for Amazon for two years before the appointment. Prior to that, he served as the first legislative affairs secretary for Newsom from 2019 to 2020.
