Adam Carter-Campbell told a woman he had been trying to woo on OKCupid.com dating site he wanted to take her on an island getaway—“where no one can hear you scream.”
The object of his desire, and his ire, 21-year-old Holly Mason, showed the messages to KIRO-TV.
Carter-Campbell was arrested in Seattle last week for issuing threats via the online dating service and has been charged with felony cyber-stalking.
Part of a message he sent, shown by KIRO-TV, states: “You just gotta be nicer to me, that way I won’t have the inclination to go kill a bunch of people.”
Carter-Campbell did not have any weapons in his home, police found, but he is being held at the King County Jail on a $100,000 bond. Police say he is a danger to himself and others.
