The following sightings were chosen by Ufology Research group in its 2013 Canadian UFO Sighting Survey published this week.
1. ‘A Massive Hotel’ Overhead
On Jan. 8 at 5:30 p.m., children sledding in Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia, on the East Coast, saw an object described as “a massive hotel” fly over a house and out of sight.

2. Rectangular Object Whistles
On May 4 at 2:45 a.m. in St. Jerome, Quebec, a man standing on his balcony saw a large rectangular object move over the treetops before disappearing. It made a whistling sound.

3. Air-Traffic Controller Sees V-Shaped Formation
On Sept. 27 at 8:51 p.m. in Winnipeg, Manitoba, an air traffic controller saw four lights moving together in a V-shaped formation at a height of 1,000 to 2,000 feet. He did not believe they were ordinary aircraft.

4. Former Helicopter Pilot Sees 50 Lights Moving in Same Direction
On Sept. 28 at 8:13 p.m. in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, a former helicopter pilot and two other witnesses saw about 50 lights moving together in pairs. They watched for about five minutes.

5. Police Investigate Lights Captured on Phone Camera
On Jan. 25, 2013 at 9:23 p.m., a woman on Tsuu T’ina Reserve in Alberta, saw strange lights near her home that flew away. Military helicopters were seen in the area afterward, and police investigated the report. The Canadian government used to follow up on some UFO reports, but decided in 2011 to leave UFO investigations to civilians.
