About one in three Orange County voters participated in the Nov. 8 election, according to unofficial election results by the Orange County Registrar of Voters.

State Superintendent of Public Instruction
Incumbent Tony K. Thurmond is poised to win with 55.2 percent of the vote, while opponent Lance Ray Christensen won 44.8 of the votes.North Orange County Community College District, Trustee Area 1

Elizabeth Winkler leads with 53.8 percent, while Joyce Burdette is at 46.3 percent.Measure G: Capistrano Unified Bond Measure
The measure appears to fail, with 54.1 percent of residents voting NO and 45.9 percent voting YES.It needed 55 percent of votes to pass.
Measure H: Santa Ana Unified Board Member Term Limits
Measure H is overwhelmingly poised to pass, with 86.5 percent YES votes and 13.5 percent NO votes.It would limit trustees on the Santa Ana Unified School Board to three four-year terms and prohibit them from serving again once that time is up. Under the district’s current policy, there are no term limits for school board members.
