This big truck is not made for everybody, but is made for many. Should you live in a central urban area, where parking is available only at premium, or if you labor in a downtown office where parking space is reserved for only small vehicles, possible pause for purchase may be expected. But should you need a transport that can conquer bad roads, or a dependable work companion, then the Ram 2500 is made to order.

This massive truck is an star worker when it comes to hauling or towing, whether it’s on superhighways or on roads that would be a terror for anything other than a Ram. You will not find a more rugged truck. Plus, you still get to keep all the cabin comforts and conveniences brought to you by outstanding technologies.

This Ram has its towing power provided by a 410-horsepower 6.4L HEMI V8, managed through a 6-speed automatic transmission. Or you might select the 6.7L Cummins turbo diesel engine that cranks out a Herculean 800 lb.-ft. of torque. No mileage estimate is available as of writing.

The remote keyless entry makes getting in quick and easy. Other comfort and convenience features include leather-trimmed, sport heated/ventilated front seats and 7” color Multi-View Driver Info Display. SiriusXM Satellite Radio provides additional entertainment through a 9-speaker audio system that including a subwoofer for more bass output.

Dual zone climate control with auto temperature control and integrated voice command, plus Bluetooth hands-free and streaming keep travelers comfortable and connected. Big knobs for audio and HVAC adjustments all work quickly and are easy to find.

When building this Ram truck, the engineers focused on numerous possibilities to bring the 2500 towards perfection, but priority focus remains on power, comfort, technology, and ruggedness.

Power 10-way heated/ventilated driver’s seat and 6-way power heated/ventilated passenger seat take care of the folks up front. At the same time, fold-flat load floor storage and second row in-floor storage bins take care of various smaller items.

Electronic shift on-the-fly transfer case, ParkSense Front/Rear Park Assist, Tire Pressure Monitoring, and extensive active safety features help the truck run safer and more solid, even with a trailer attached. Admittedly this is a big truck, but with features like wide 20“ X 8” painted aluminum wheels with chrome inserts, electronic stability control, and rear view camera, this Ram makes everyone a candidate for ownership.

The base price for the Ram 2500 Laramie 4X4 is $51,195, but there are numerous optional equipment packages. If your focus is on looks, the $2,000 Body Package adds body-color grille with Ram letters, body-color door handles, black premium tail-lights, tow hooks, and black power fold away mirrors.

Should a work truck be your focus, then you should check three option boxes to equip Ram Box Cargo Management System, Bed Cargo Dividers, exterior LED lighting, and spray-in bed-liner. This combination adds an extra $2,100.

Even though my driving experience was good, the Laramie required plenty of room for turning, and had an appetite for gas. If you need a heavy duty, comfortable work truck with numerous amenities, this Ram should be considered.
