A 19-year-old woman from Baytown, Texas, is facing charges for allegedly shooting and killing a man in the Highlands area on New Year’s Eve.

Yvonne Raquel Ramirez is currently being held in the Harris County jail. Her bond is set at $50,000, according to the Houston Chronicle.
Officers told ABC13 that Ramirez shot Josh McKinney, who later died from his injuries. She was in a relationship with the victim as well.

The alleged murder took place on Dec. 31, 2017, at about 4:30 a.m in the 100 block of Mizell Street in east Harris County.

According to court documents obtained by ABC13, Ramirez allegedly tried to rob McKinney by taking his guns away from him, before demanding $2,000 for their return.

Ramirez herself was also shot during the incident.

She is being treated at an unnamed hospital for nonlife-threatening injuries, the Houston Chronicle reported.

An unnamed friend of McKinney told ABC13 that McKinney told him he was going to meet a girl but then failed to show up for New Year’s Eve.

Deputies are still investigating to see if anyone else was involved in the incident.

Just one day before the shooting, Ramirez’s Facebook page painted a different picture.

In a Saturday, Dec. 30, Facebook post—her last one—she wrote about how her life was getting back on track.
