Modern skis are high tech sports gear made to be light and easily maneuverable.
This is only one of two ancient skis that still have the binding attached, and the other one was discovered in Finland.
There are only around 20 pre-modern wooden skis that have been found in Norway. Measuring at 69 inches long and five point seven inches wide with wicker and leather binding straps, the recent find is from the Early Viking Age.
The discovery is among 390 others that were made this summer, and many additional items have been found in recent years since glaciers in the area started melting, revealing ancient objects.
