NANTES, France—On April 4, the Cité des Congrès in Nantes resounded with the unique sound of Shen Yun’s orchestra.
Pierre-Henri Lorin served in the French Navy for 40 years. This naval officer and ballet lover was in Nantes to experience New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts.
“It’s absolutely fabulous,” said Mr. Lorin enthusiastically. “It’s magical, it’s beautiful! It’s as beautiful as the clips we’ve seen on the commercials and news ads, it’s splendid!”
“Everything is beautiful. The performance, the dancers are remarkably talented. The choreography is meticulously prepared, meticulously executed, it is pure bliss. I didn’t see the time go by during these two hours.”
‘You Feel Transported to Another World’
The regular visitor to the opera houses explained that discovering Shen Yun was “extraordinary, because with my wife, we often go to Paris, especially to the Palais Garnier or Bastille, to see the ballets. The last ballet we saw was Swan Lake. It’s classical, it’s European, and it’s Western. Here, it’s also classical, it’s also magnificent, and it’s also beautifully choreographed! The artistic work is of very high quality!”Mr. Lorin said he felt “very light, because you feel transported to another world, which is a fairy tale world, of course! The story-based dances that tell tales ranging from ancient times to the modern day are very expressive in depicting the difficulties encountered by the characters or by the dynasties ... And it is true that we forget we are in a theater, as we become part of the show and the messages conveyed by the artists!”For Mr. Lorin, Shen Yun “brings more serenity and then it stays in your memory for a moment to dream, to close your eyes, find the music, find the actors ... It is wonderful!”
