The Kingdom of Jordan held its very first horseback archery competition, called “Al Faris,” on Thursday, say local media reports.
King Abdullah and the royal family attended the competition, which drew international participants. Different archery styles were displayed throughout the competition.
Since ancient times, horseback archery has been present in nearly every culture that reared horses.
In the early 20th century, horseback archery was revived in Mongolia and later developed into a sporting event
