NEW YORK—Twenty-seven high-end restaurants will show off their favorite delicacies at Celebrate Flatiron Chefs Tuesday, July 17, in Madison Square Park.

The restaurants include La Promenade des Anglais, serving its green melon gazpacho with honeydew; Almond, serving its stone fruit shortcake with rosemary and mascarpone; and Pranna, serving its green papaya salad with soy lime dressing.

Drinks will be supplied by businesses such as the Brooklyn Brewery, GuS-Grown-up Soda, and Long Island Wineries.

“This is a great example of how the community and neighbors come together to support the neighborhood and park,” said Bertie Downs, the event organizer.

“It’s amazing how these chefs and beverage sponsors give their time and team to support us,” she said.

The event generally sells around 1,000 tickets, which are close to running out.

Early admission begins at 5:30 p.m., and general admission begins an hour later. Tickets must be purchased beforehand. Early tickets cost $250, and general admission costs $175. The proceeds will fund the park’s horticulture, maintenance, and free cultural programs.

Foodies on tight budgets can take advantage of New York City Restaurant Week, when three-course

fixed price lunches are served for $24.07, and dinners for $35.

Restaurant week actually runs for almost four weeks, from July 16 to Aug. 10. Participating Flatiron restaurants include City Crab and Seafood Co., Ben & Jack’s Steak House, and Parea Bistro.
