NEW YORK— The Climate Change: It’s What’s For Dinner campaign launched its meatless Mondays campaign on Monday at NYU with free vegetarian meals, maps that highlighted environmentally sustainable restaurants in the neighborhood, raffles for restaurants, and more.

“Livestock alone creates more greenhouse gas emissions than all the cars, trucks, planes, and other fossil-fueled modes of transportation in the world according to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in their widely cited report, ‘Livestock’s Long Shadow,’” states the event website.

Meatless Monday is one of the nonprofit initiatives under The Monday Campaigns umbrella, which encourage Americans to start their week off healthy. Other Monday Campaigns include Move it Monday and Kids Cook Monday.

Mmm,that free salad looks great! I’m gonna pair mine with a nice thick slab of foie gras, delish.
BTW, I only eat meat as an homage to my ancestors.
