BUENOS AIRES—Award-winning Argentinian actor Hugo Arana says the beauty of Shen Yun Performing Arts International Company purifies and cleanses the audience.
He saw Shen Yun’s fourth performance for the 2013 season at Teatro Ópera Citi in Argentina’s capital city, Buenos Aires, Monday.
An actor with a career spanning four decades, Mr. Arana could appreciate the work that went in to producing the performance.
“It’s very beautiful. Even their discipline moves you. Not only its aesthetics—their ability in the use of color—but there is something there so noble, so diaphanous, so crystal clear,” he said.
Shen Yun is New York-based, and has three companies that tour the world each year, with a mission to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture.
For Mr. Arana the performance was emotive and sensorial.
“It was like returning to my childhood, returning to an eternal and complete place. There was that kind of feeling one had at five years of age, playing … It is purifying. It cleanses you. It purifies you. It’s very beautiful,” he said.
He said he could see no flaws in the performance.
“I say that even their discipline thrills me. Even their discipline touches me. Because it is not about physical rigor, it’s more like a spiritual rigor, right? And that is present in the body, and it’s magnificent,” he said.
Shen Yun is performing in Buenos Aires through to December 21.
