This mochi machine is a rice cooker with an additional function—after the rice is cooked, it can, at the push of a button, knead the rice into mochi.

Mochi is a Japanese rice cake made with sticky rice. It’s used like a dumpling in soups or made into many popular deserts, such as to celebrate Chinese New Year.
