Colombia is home to one of the largest black populations in the Hispanic world, and this compilation
is all about the marrying of African music and Colombia’s traditional sounds. Over five years of crate-digging expeditions to Colombia’s Caribbean coast, Analog Africa collected thousands of records before cherry picking the 32 vibrant tracks collected here. The first disc features afrofunk and psychedelia-inspired tunes, while disc 2 is filled with danceable tropical beats. For fans of Cumbia or Afrobeat, this is a great exploration further into the music of 70s Colombia, and for fans of colourful world music in general this is well worth a listen.
