An Irvine man posed as a collector to borrow the expensive instruments, then sold them to an LA dealer, prosecutors say.

Raymundo Duran is accused of shooting Deputy Samuel Aispuro at a West Covina intersection last month. Aispuro’s bulletproof vest saved him.

The phenomenon is typically seen in areas of Europe, the northern Atlantic Ocean, Canada, and Alaska. It might be visible again Saturday evening in California.
