Zackariah Rathwell and Josh Hunter of the band Zackariah & The Prophets have been named as two of the five victims in the mass stabbing attack in Calgary very early Tuesday morning.

The attack, which is believed to have come from University of Calgary graduate Matthew de Grood, left five dead.

It happened at a house party near the university’s campus and involved mostly students and graduates.

Rathwell and Hunter had just recently released a new CD with their band, playing at a packed party over the weekend.

“All I want to say is they were my little brothers and I love them so much and I’ll never be the same without them,” Kyle Tenove, another member of the band whose pictured between the victims in the photo above, told Metro. “They were the best guys I’ve ever met and legendary musicians.”

Student Jordan Segura was also named as a victim.

A family member said friends and family are all heartbroken over the loss.

“He had a heart of gold and a passion for life and knowledge,” the relative said. “It was hard to be around him and not smile.”

The party was thrown in celebration of the end of the winter semester at the university.
