YouTube Goes Global with Original Channels

Just one year after announcing an expansion of almost 100 original channels, YouTube has added a variety of international original channels to their lineup.

The new channels from France, Germany, and the U.K. According to YouTube, their top 25 original channels now average over a million views a week, and features a variety of content.

The news category lineup includes the likes of Charlie Rose, Reuters, Slate, and the Wall Street Journal. TechFeed and The Weather Channel are also listed.

YouTube, which is owned by Google, selects channels based on a range of criteria, including the audience viewing potential.
