UPDATE: YouTube is again down on March 12. Isitdownrightnow says the website is “unavailable” as of 12:45 p.m. ET.

Many users got a 502 error message. Some reported a 502 error message.

This is an article from January:

Reports started coming in at around 7 p.m. ET local time.

On Twitter, users complained.

“Youtube stop being down I am trying to be entertained by inane things wow,” wrote one.

Added another: “Wow. Youtube is down.”

When some users try to click on videos, YouTube gives a “500 Internal Server Error.”

“Sorry, something went wrong. A team of highly trained monkeys has been dispatched to deal with this situation. If you see them, show them this information…,” it reads.

The site then gives a list of random numbers and letters.

Isitdownrightnow.com said there was a “possible service disruption.”
