Baseball legend Yogi Berra took a fall last Friday and was hospitalized to receive treatment for his injuries. He was released Sunday night, according to the AP.
He fell on the front porch steps of his home in Montclair, New Jersey and was brought to a local hospital to treat persistent bleeding from his injuries, according to th eNew York Daily News. Doctors were able to perform a procedure to stop the bleeding and Berra was subsequently released from the hospital Sunday night.
Berra missed Old-Timers’ Day, a long-standing New York Yankees tradition, on Saturday due to his hospital stay.
Berra’s spokesman Dave Kaplan expressed that he will be able to attend the National Baseball Hall of Fame ceremony in Cooperstown, New York next weekend.
