NEW YORK—Online review behemoth Yelp opened its East Coast headquarters on Thursday steps from Union Square. The headquarters houses 65 full-time employees, including brand sales and marketing staff. Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and city officials met Yelp CEO and co-founder Jeremy Stoppelman.

“For a company that relies on opinions and lots of businesses, there is no better place to have an office than New York City,” stated NYC Council Speaker Christine C. Quinn in a press release.

Yelp is an online review site with more than 63 million users. New Yorkers rate among the top for unique visitors to Yelp’s website. Since it was founded in 2004, Yelp has become the prime source for information on local businesses.
