Mark Reynolds’ 11th-inning single off of Yankees’ reliever Hector Noesi scored the game-winning run Wednesday afternoon, and snapped New York’s six-game winning streak in the process.

After a short turnaround from Tuesday night’s rain-delayed win, Joe Girardi initially rested Jeter, Cano, Teixeira, Gardner, and Granderson but inserted all but his captain into the game before the rain-soaked contest was over.

A.J. Burnett went six innings for the Yankees, giving up four runs, and was replaced by Aaron Laffey, the first of five relievers. All in all, Girardi’s pitchers struck out 15 batters on the day—a whopping five of them were Baltimore third basemen Chris Davis.

Meanwhile, Zach Britton went five innings for Buck Showalter’s club and ended up being the first of eight Baltimore pitchers on the day. Noland Reimold hit the only home run of the day—a two-run shot in the third.
