The upcoming X-Men Apocalypse, sequel to X-Men Days of Future Past, has changed plans for an X-Force movie.

X-Force is one of several X-Men spinoffs, and was created by Rob Liefeld.

Led by the mutant Cable, X-Force is more aggressive and militant compared the the X-Men. It also included several characters from the first Uncanny X-Men spinoff, The New Mutants.

A movie based on them was announced last summer but now it looks like it might not happen.

“Everything changed when X-Men Apocalypse was announced,” Liefeld told fans via Twitter.

Asked directly whether there will be an X-Force movie, he said “Coin toss, I'd wager...”

“I have no idea if Cable will appear in future X-Men films. Hard to believe he won’t appear in Apocalypse but I don’t expect it,” he added.

Apocalypse, teased at the end of Days of Future Past, is set to hit theaters on May 27, 2016.

It will feature “En Sabah Nur,” also known as Apocalypse.
