A “Keyscore” surveillance program allows National Security Agency workers to collect a wide range of information about nearly anything a user does online.

The program is used by the U.S. to collect data on people, including monitoring their emails and being able to search through Facebook chats.

The Guardian news outlet published details about the program on July 31. Slides from a presentation obtained by the outlet can be seen embedded below.

Also, over a week ago, the Daily Dot reported that German publication Der Spiegel had revealed a connection between German intelligence and the NSA regarding the X-Keyscore program.

The July 31 leak comes while the NSA declassified some documents on Wednesday about its telephone surveillance, and on the same day a hearing was taking place regarding the agency’s programs.
