The son of WWE founder Vince McMahon was involved in a helicopter crash landing near Long Island, New York, the company said in a statement.
The helicopter went down near Gilgo Beach about a half-mile from the shore.
“I would like to thank our pilot, Mario, who did a heroic job of landing us safely in the water, the Suffolk County Marine Bureau who were first on the scene, all the lifeguards who came out to assist us and the Fire Island Coast Guard station,” Shane McMahon said in the statement.
He was unharmed.
“Everyone is safe and sound,” he said. “I look forward to seeing everyone at WWE Battleground in Philadelphia this Sunday.”
McMahon told the New York Post that he knew his helicopter was having problems.
“It’s very unsettling when all the sudden you have something happen. You hear a bang and then that we’re gonna do an emergency landing in the water,” he was quoted as saying.
They were rescued by kayakers.
