Here’s the latest news and rumors from around the WWE.

CM Punk

The rumors about CM Punk continue to swirl as reports claim that rival promotion TNA has made a move to try and sign the wrestler.

Punk has not said anything on his Twitter account

According to WrestlingInc.com, “This was done similarly to how they reached out to Alberto Del Rio, through an intermediary who is friends with Punk. The idea pitched was said to be a huge deal for Punk to be the top star of the company with pay similar to what Hulk Hogan was making. The idea is that Punk could be TNA’s flagship star and if he signs now, he could help get a strong TV deal.”

The move comes as TNA has reportedly fallen out of favor with SpikeTV. The company said its Wednesday night show “Impact Wrestling” will appear on SpikeTV until the end of 2014 and after that, it will air no more on the channel.

Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar, the WWE star and former UFC fighter, could be returning to the MMA promotion after his contract is to reportedly expire right after WrestleMania 31 in April.

According to Fox Sports, Jim Ross said, “Creatively from a strategic standpoint, WWE will need to find out sooner rather than later if Brock is interested in re-signing or not. ... I see no reason he couldn’t have the potential to return to the UFC and sell pay-per-views.”

Ross added that he didn’t have any inside information about a move.

“It looks to me like he’s gotten back on track,” Ross said. “He looks phenomenal strength-wise. He’s just scary looking. He’s more scary looking than he was before he left [WWE the first time].”

Lesnar quit fighting for the UFC after his TKO loss to Alistair Overeem during UFC 141 in December 2011.

Since he departed the UFC, there’s been intermittent rumors about his return.

Lesnar vs Cena for Royal Rumble?

Another rumor says that Brock Lesnar might defend his championship during the Royal Rumble.

According to WrestlingObserver, “As previously reported, Lesnar is not currently advertised for any events leading up to the 28 annual ‘Royal Rumble’ event. Although Lesnar and WWE have come to a new agreement regarding what his pay would be should the company book him for dates outside of the ones listed on his original contract, the company may not book their champion to compete again until January of 2015.

John Cena vs Rusev?

There’s been speculation that John Cena will face Rusev at WrestleMania 31.

Per RantSports, “The fact that The Rock’s return, even as only a cameo (in all likelihood), came as a foil to Rusev is a big step forward for the still developing performer. Rusev gains steam from this deal, having been put face-to-face with one of the greatest performers in a generation. If Rusev can have an in-ring encounter with The Rock, he can certainly have a feud and WrestleMania match with Cena.”
