Mets third-baseman David Wright who enters Tuesday night’s contest against Baltimore fourth in the National League in hitting at .353, is currently on pace to be voted in as the starter in July’s All-Star Game in Kansas City, according to voting results released on MLB’s website.

The voting results show Wright, a five-time All-Star, has 1,977,388 votes to put him well ahead of San Francisco’s Pablo Sandoval, who has 1,612,497 votes in second place.

According to the American League voting results, released Monday, 12-time All-Star shortstop Derek Jeter, (3,359,875) who is hitting .317 on the season heading into Tuesday night’s game, had more than a million-vote lead over second-place Elvis Andrus of Texas.

Meanwhile in the outfield two-time All-Star Curtis Granderson, who is currently third in the league with 21 home runs, is second among all outfielders with 2,818,535 votes.

The final results will be announced on July 1st.
