Yoplait brand Yop yogurts have been recalled in Canada due to the possible presence of pieces of plastic in the products, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) says.
The recall includes all flavours of Yoplait Canada’s 200-millilitre Yop drinkable yogurts with best before dates ranging from Oct. 21, 2025 to Jan. 12, 2026, the company says.
The company also says the recall is “voluntary” and “being carried out as a precaution” due to a potential defect in the products’ packaging that may result in the presence of pieces of plastic in the products.
“The health and well-being of Canadians is our top priority,” Yoplait Canada said.
“We are working closely with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency as well as our retail partners who have removed these products from store shelves.”
The federal agency is advising consumers to check if they have the recalled products and, if so, to not consume, serve, use, sell, or distribute the products. Instead, the recalled products should be disposed of or returned to the location where they were purchased.
The CFIA also says that, as a result of the company-initiated recall, it is conducting a food safety investigation that may lead to other products being recalled. In addition, it is ensuring that the food industry removes the recalled products from the marketplace.
Consumers looking for more information about the recall can contact Yoplait Canada’s customer service line at 1-800-230-8103, the company says.
