WA’s Bunbury Shortlisted for Dual Offshore Wind Proposals

Government says the offshore wind plan could power 1 million homes, produce 1.5 GW of renewable energy, and create 900 construction plus 450 ongoing jobs in WA.

The federal government has identified Western Australia’s (WA) Bunbury region for two proposed offshore wind developments, Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen confirmed on June 3.

A provisional decision has been made to grant a feasibility licence to Bunbury Offshore Wind Farm Pty Ltd for a project in the northern portion of the declared zone.
