Victorian Premier Makes ‘Pandemic Declaration’ for the First Time

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has used newly approved pandemic-related powers to extend his state’s human biosecurity emergency period for another three months.

In a statement on Friday, Andrews confirmed the extension of the pandemic declaration would come into effect at 11.59 p.m. on Dec. 15, when the current state of emergency period comes to an end.
