British Secretary of State for Business and Trade Peter Kyle said he was confident that the trade deal the UK agreed on with the United States last year still stands, after U.S. President Donald Trump announced 10 percent global tariffs.

“It was the best deal, and it remains the best deal, and the fundamental terms that we had negotiated with the United States remain in place,” Kyle told the International Agreements Committee on Feb. 24.
