Britain’s Royal Air Force (RAF) scrambled its Typhoon jets on Wednesday to respond to four Russian military aircraft approaching UK airspace, the RAF has confirmed.

The jets were launched from RAF Lossiemouth in Scotland and were joined by a Voyager air-to-air refuelling tanker from RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire.
