Trump Says Trade Talks Part of Meeting With Carney, Mexican President During FIFA Draw

U.S. President Donald Trump said he would “discuss trade” with Prime Minister Mark Carney and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, as the leaders were scheduled to meet later in the day at the FIFA World Cup draw event in Washington on Dec. 5.
Carney arrived in Washington, D.C., on the morning of Dec. 5 to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final draw ceremony.
