Tory MP Chak Au to Resign From Role as BC City Councillor

Conservative MP Chak Au has submitted his resignation as a municipal councillor in Richmond, B.C., after receiving confirmation from the city council that no byelection would be held.

Au was first elected as a Richmond city councillor in 2011, and has won re-election ever since. He was also elected as the federal MP for the Richmond Centre–Marpole riding in British Columbia in April 2025.
