The Toronto Police Service will not support the Liberal government’s federal gun buyback program by collecting firearms from owners in Toronto, Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree says.

A TPS spokesperson told The Epoch Times it had requested further information from the government about the buyback program, and committed to reviewing the program once more details were provided, but said “no operationally viable plan was presented.” When asked to confirm whether this meant TPS has ruled out any future participation in the program, The Epoch Times did not receive a response by publication time.
