‘They spoke to Ghislaine Maxwell, they spoke to people after convictions of child abuse,’ Robinson said.

A British influencer who was linked to Karl Stefanovic’s early departure from Channel Nine’s Today show has criticised the network over what he described as double standards.

Stefanovic, who hosts his own podcast and had presented on the Today Show for more than two decades, was axed from the program last month after interviewing Tommy Robinson, who is known for his right-leaning stance on issues like immigration.

The Australian TV identity had been due to retire from the program later this year.

But Robinson questioned why of all the people interviewed by both Stefanovic and Nine, he was the one who prompted such serious consequences.

“I looked at people he’s previously spoke to, he spoke to some real extreme characters who are actual racists and extreme. He spoke to people who openly hate Jews and he didn’t lose his job, ” Robinson said during a recent episode of his podcast where he spoke to One Nation Leader Pauline Hanson.

“I looked at who the channel spoke to. They spoke to Ghislaine Maxwell, they spoke to people after convictions of child abuse.

“So, for me ... this was about the fact your channel, your media, are terrified of anything—not to do with free speech—but to do with Islam specifically.”

Hanson is currently visiting the UK. She attended CPAC Great Britain and has spoken with conservative figures in the country, including former UK Prime Minister Liz Truss.

Robinson said he felt it was strange the network could speak to such people but drew the line at speaking to him.

“I’ve never even be questioned on racial or hate crime ever in my life, I speak facts,” he said.

Robinson said he believed there was a broader effort to prevent conservative figures from being given a platform, a view Hanson agreed with.

“Channel 9 in the last few years have become very woke, and they stopped having me on [their] program,” she said.

In an interview last month, Hanson condemned Nine Entertainment over its alleged response to Stefanovic’s interview with Robinson.

“Tommy Robinson has a lesson for Australians. If we don’t learn from the UK’s mistakes on immigration and radical Islam, we are going to face the same destruction,” she said.

“This is exactly what Karl was trying to bring to Australia’s attention.”

The Epoch Times contacted Nine Entertainment for comment regarding Robinson’s comments.
