Special Investigator to Probe Alleged War Crimes by Australian Special Forces

Prime Minister Scott Morrison will appoint a special investigator to probe alleged war crimes by Australian special forces soldiers in Afghanistan.

Given the gravity of the allegations—55 incidents which include the unlawful killings of non-combatants—Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton said it was appropriate that a special investigator assess each case thoroughly.
