Travellers at some Canadian airports may have an easier time getting through pre-boarding screening this holiday season, as new technology allows items like liquids and electronics to remain in carry-on baggage during security checks.

Crown corporation Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) says its rollout of 43 new computed tomography (CT) x-ray scanners means that passengers will no longer need to remove large electronics like laptops or approved liquids, aerosols, and gels from luggage at some airport security checkpoints.
