Victoria Police have filed 83 additional charges against a former childcare worker accused of sexually assaulting several children.
Police say four newly identified alleged victims prompted the latest charges with their families notified and all being offered support.
The 27-year-old now faces 156 charges of sexual assault connection to his time working at 23 centres between 2017 and 2025.
New Victims Identified
According to police, the four additional alleged victims were placed at three centres where Brown worked:- Nino Early Learning Adventures, Point Cook—March 26, 2019
- Only About Children, Williamstown—Dec. 1 2020 and Feb. 22, 2021
- Aussie Kindies Early Learning Centre, Keilor—between Feb. 3-11, 2025
Major Investigation Ongoing
Detectives from the Sexual Crimes Squad are conducting a “comprehensive, ongoing and active investigation” into the case since Brown was arrested in May.Authorities are also working across the Department of Health, the Commission for Children and Young People, Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, Gatehouse Centre, the Department of Education, and the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Following the incident, Victoria announced 22 reforms to bolster childcare safety, including a National Early Childhood Worker Register with powers to de-register unsafe staff, CCTV trials, and changes to staff screening and recruitment requirements.
