Party Factions a ‘Cancer’ on Australian Democracy: MP Craig Kelly

Internal factions that dominate decision-making in Australia’s major political parties are a “cancer” on the country’s democratic system, according to United Australia Party (UAP) leader Craig Kelly MP.

In a wide-ranging interview with Emeritus Law Professor David Flint, Kelly, who last year resigned from the Liberal Party to join the UAP, said Australian politics was in “disarray” and that the current two-party political system was “broken.”
