Norway to Join France’s Nuclear Deterrence Umbrella

Norway will open talks with France on joining its nuclear umbrella, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere and French President Emmanuel Macron said on May 27, amid growing concerns over Russia and regional security.
Stoere traveled to Paris on Wednesday to meet Macron and sign a broader defense agreement with France that includes Norway joining a French-led nuclear weapons initiative.
