Tens of thousands of residents have evacuated their homes in Canada’s prairie provinces due to numerous wildfires. A state of emergency has been declared in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, and crews are working to contain the fires. Wildfires are also sweeping across parts of Alberta.
Mike Hancheroff from northern Saskatchewan’s La Ronge community, where an evacuation order was issued on June 2, said the wildfire spread quickly toward the area that day, prompting him to leave before it was too late.
