Several vehicle manufacturers have issued recalls over safety concerns that impact more than 20,000 vehicles. Here is a list of the affected makes and models.

Hyundai

Hyundai is recalling 9,669 vehicles over a trailer wiring harness that may not have been correctly manufactured, allowing water to leak into the harness. The harness was installed before delivery or sold as a dealer accessory, according to the Transport Canada recall notice.

Hyundai said if water gets into the harness, the vehicle’s trailer lights and stop lights may not work. It could cause a collision as other drivers will not be able to recognize if the vehicle is braking, turning, or changing lanes. The issue can also cause a short circuit in the wiring harness and may result in a fire.

The recall is only for vehicles that have a Hyundai genuine accessory trailer wiring harness with part number N7H03-AP100.

Vehicle models included in the recall are the Hyundai 2022, 2023, and 2024 Tucson.

The manufacturer said it would notify owners of the affected vehicles in writing, adding that corrective actions were still being developed.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles

Fiat Chrysler has issued a recall for 4,115 of its Ram trucks over issues with the seat belt system.

The company said a software problem could cause the occupant restraint controller to turn off while driving and would disable the airbags, seat belt pretensioners, and electronic stability control system. If this happens, it increases the risk of injury to those in the vehicle if there were a collision. Fiat also said that if the electronic stability control system was not working, it could increase the risk of a crash.

The software problem would also cause the airbag warning light, antilock braking system, and seat belt reminder light to display.

The recall impacts 2025 Ram models 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500, as well as certain Ram 3500, 4500, and 5500 chassis cab incomplete vehicles, the manufacturer said.

The company said it would notify owners of recalled vehicles in writing, and advises the vehicle be taken to a dealership to update the software for the occupant restraint controller.

Kia

Kia is recalling 3,254 of its Sportage models over software concerns that could impact the warning display system.

The company said that on certain vehicles in its 2023, 2024, and 2025 lines of Sportage SUVs, the tow hitch harness control module software could cause a reboot to the instrument cluster while driving. The issue is that drivers would not be able to see certain information about the vehicle, like warning lights and the speedometer.

Kia said the recall only affects vehicles that have a 4.2-inch screen and a genuine Kia tow hitch harness.

The manufacturer said it would notify vehicle owners by mail, advising the vehicle be taken to a dealership where it can be inspected and the tow hitch harness control model replaced if needed.

Toyota

Toyota has issued a recall for two of its hybrid models over concerns that a bolt in the hybrid system is not tightened properly and could cause the vehicle to lose power to the wheels.
The recall impacts 2,411 vehicles in Canada, and include the 2025 and 2026 Camry Hybrid and the 2026 Corolla Cross Hybrid, according to the Transport Canada recall notice.

The manufacturer said a bolt in the inverter assembly for the hybrid system may not have been correctly tightened on certain vehicles. This can cause the vehicle to go into a reduced power mode or to lose power to the wheels, which could increase the risk of a collision.

Toyota said there was also a risk of a short circuit if the bolt became loose in the inverter assembly while the ignition is on, which presents a fire risk.

The company said that corrective actions were still in development, adding it would notify affected vehicle owners by mail.

Ford

Ford has issued four separate recalls for 1,300 of its vehicles, including some F-series Ram trucks.
The first recall affects 683 F-series trucks that are being recalled over concerns that the right-rear axle shaft could break.

The company said that the shaft may not have been manufactured properly, and if it breaks it could cause a loss of power to the wheels, increasing the risk of a crash. If the truck is parked and does not have the parking brake engaged, the vehicle could roll away, presenting the possibility of injury or a collision, according to the recall notice.

Ford models included in the recall are the 2026 F-250 Chassis Cab, 2026 F-250 Super Duty, 2026 F-350 Chassis Cab, and the 2026 F-350 Super Duty, as well as some Super Duty incomplete vehicles.

Ford said it would notify owners of recalled vehicles by mail, advising the vehicle be taken to a dealership for inspection and possible replacement of the right-rear axle shaft.

In a second recall, Ford says 359 of its 2025 Maverick trucks may need to have the instrument panel replaced.

The company said on certain vehicles the panel may not have been manufactured correctly, and the instrument panel topper could detach and be propelled toward vehicle occupants if the passenger-front airbag inflates in a collision. This presents a risk of injury to those in the vehicle.

Ford said it would mail notices to owners of vehicles that are included in the recall, advising the truck be taken to a dealership and have the instrument panel topper replaced.

Another recall impacts 162 Ford vehicles over concerns the seat belt retractors may not have been secured correctly.

The manufacturer says the left and right rear seat belt retractors may not work properly in a crash because they have not been properly secured. Ford said this increases the risk of injury if the vehicle crashes.

The recall includes 2025 and 2026 Escape and 2025 and 2026 Corsair models.

The company said it would mail out notices to owners of affected vehicles, advising the vehicle be taken to a dealership for inspection and to have the rear seat belt retractor bolts replaced.

A fourth recall for Ford impacts 55 of its older vehicles over concerns that a previous recall repair was not done correctly.

Ford said that on affected 2019 Expedition and 2019 and 2020 Mustang vehicles, there was a problem with the warning system, which fails to correctly indicate if the vehicle was not in park.

The company said when the ignition was off and the driver door closed, the message and chime warning that the vehicle is not in park is only active for three seconds. The chime should last for 10 seconds, while the message should display for 30 minutes.

The manufacturer said that it could cause the driver to leave the vehicle without shifting it into park, and the vehicle could roll away, causing injury or a crash.

Ford said it would notify owners of affected vehicles by mail, advising the vehicle be taken to the dealership to have the instrument panel cluster reprogrammed.

BMW

BMW has recalled 101 of its vehicles from 2014, which is an expansion of a previous recall, according to the Transport Canada notice.

The recall notes that the side curtain airbag inflator could rupture and separate unexpectedly, causing a piece of metal from the inflator to be propelled toward those in the vehicle, with or without the airbag being deployed. The company said the issue could also cause the airbag not to inflate properly in a crash. Both situations present a risk of injury, BMW said.

The problem affects its 2 Series, 3 Series, and 4 Series vehicles, which were also part of a recall from March 2024.

The company said it would notify owners by mail to have vehicles taken to a dealership and have the side curtain airbag replaced if necessary.
