The Montreal city transit maintenance workers’ union says it is suspending its month-long strike as the province’s labour minister prepares to introduce back-to-work legislation.
The union, Syndicat du transport de Montréal–CSN, made the announcement on Nov. 11, while the transit agency, Société de transport de Montréal (STM) said buses would start running at 6:15 a.m. and trains would begin at 6:30 a.m. on Nov 12. The union represents 2,400 maintenance workers.
