A Mississauga woman is facing charges in connection with a dog attack on a 13-year-old boy that sent him to hospital with unspecified injuries.
Peel Regional Police responded to reports of two large, off-leash dogs “actively attacking” a boy outside a residential building on Rathburn Road East and Central Parkway East in Mississauga on Nov. 12.
The boy was transported to a trauma centre and is currently listed in stable condition, police said in a Nov. 13 press release. Police did not reveal the breed of the dogs involved in the attack.
Rachel Sauro, 37, has been charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm in connection with the incident and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton at a later date.
Peel police said the investigation is ongoing and is asking witnesses or anyone with video footage of the incident to call investigators at the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau.
