A masked man has claimed to be part of a group responsible for firebombing cars and vandalising a Victorian weapons manufacturer earlier this month.
In the chilling video shared to pro-Palestine social media accounts, the man, who appears to speak with an Australian accent and is entirely covered in black clothing and sunglasses, said his video was a “warning.”
“This was not an accident nor thoughtless vandalism ... this is a clear and serious threat,” he said.
“Consider this a warning.”
‘Deeply Troubling Escalation’
The Australian Jewish Association (AJA), which shared the video after being contacted by concerned parties, called it a “deeply troubling escalation and a clear incitement to domestic terrorism.”“Authorities must act urgently, before someone is seriously harmed or killed,” AJA CEO Robert Gregory told The Epoch Times.
“These sort of terrorist threats to violence and intimidation should not be imported to Australia.
“Hateful chants are heard at anti-Israel protests each week and now it seems people are starting to act on them.”
In recent days, the AJA has shared images of Australian protesters brandishing signs calling for the “death” of Zionists and the Israeli Defence Force.
Police Investigating
Police say an investigation into an incident at the Greensborough facility earlier this month is ongoing.“It’s understood up to five people attended the property on Para Road about 3.55 a.m. on Saturday, 5 July 2025,” Victorian Police told The Epoch Times in a statement.
“A group gained entry to the business, set fire to three vehicles and used spray paint to write various slogans on the cars and on a building wall.
“The matter is now being investigated by the Victorian Joint Counter Terrorism Team, which includes personnel from Victoria Police, the Australian Federal Police and the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO).”
Police also say investigators are reviewing video of the masked man which has been circulated by a group claiming to be behind the recent incidents.
“Police have already released CCTV of five people they would like to speak to in relation to the incident,” the spokesperson said.
“Each person was dressed in black hooded jumpers, backpacks and gloves.”
The campaign occurred the same weekend an Israeli restaurant was stormed by activists and the historic East Melbourne Synagogue was torched while 20 people were inside.
Police say they have not established links between the weapons facility attack and the other acts.
