A man has been charged with endangering life and arson following a house fire in Adelaide.

A blaze broke out at the Magill property at about 10.45pm on March 31.

Six adults who were inside the home at the time managed to escape before anyone was hurt.

Fire investigators who scoured the scene believe the blaze started in a bedroom, South Australia Police said.

A 47-year-old Magill man was then arrested and charged.

Police say he'll likely be refused bail and will appear in court on April 2.

The investigation continues.
