A 6.8 magnitude earthquake has hit just south of the Greek island of Lithakia in the Ionian Sea, Italy’s seismological agency reported.
According to the USGS, a series of earthquakes have hit the same location in the early morning, local time, with the strongest 6.8 tremor striking at 1:54 a.m. local time on Friday, Oct. 26. The epicenter of the strong quake was reported by the USGS as 16.6 kilometers (10.3 miles) deep.
