Kellie Sloane Takes NSW Liberal Leadership Unopposed After Speakman Steps Aside

She replaces Mark Speakman, who formally resigned on Nov. 20 after mounting pressure inside the party.

Former television presenter and first-term MP Kellie Sloane has been chosen to lead the NSW Liberal Party.

Sloane was elected unopposed at a party room meeting on the morning of Nov. 21. Standing before reporters shortly after, she said her colleagues had backed her unanimously.
