Japanese PM Wants to Nominate Trump for Nobel Peace Prize, White House Says

The two leaders signed a framework agreement on Oct. 28 to secure the supply of critical minerals and rare earth metals.

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has expressed her intention to nominate U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, the White House said.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters on Oct. 28 that Takaichi privately informed Trump of her intention to nominate him for the prize during their meeting in Tokyo, the second stop on his Asia trip.
